Professor Esch: serving the brand for over 30 years.

Professor Dr. Franz-Rudolf Esch is the founder of ESCH. The Brand Consultants. He works for family-owned companies, hidden champions and DAX companies in a wide range of industries worldwide. His consultancy has been awarded several times “Best Consultants for Marketing, Brand and Price”.

Prof. Dr. Franz-Rudolf Esch stands for brand like no other. He is regarded as the “brand pope”. His bestseller “Strategy and Technology of Brand Management” is the standard work on brand management.

From 1993 to 2020, Esch worked as a university professor at various universities in Germany (EBS Business School, Justus Liebig University Giessen, Saarland University, University of Trier), Austria (Leopold Franzens University Innsbruck) and Switzerland (University of St. Gallen). He also headed the Institute for Brand and Communication Research as its director.

Prof. Esch has published more than 1000 papers in international top journals ranging from Harvard Business Manager to FAZ. He is one of the top ten most cited German marketing professors worldwide. He has received numerous national and international awards for his research work.

Prof. Esch is also a sought-after key note speaker. In addition to various advisory board activities in companies, he has been involved in many renowned management executive education programs in Germany, Switzerland and France (INSEAD).

For a total of 12 years, Esch was Vice President of the German Marketing Association. He established the German Brand Congress and the Brand Award.

In 2004, Prof. Esch was appointed Saarland Ambassador.
